Búðardalur is a village situated on the Hvammsfjörður in the north-west of Iceland.
Búðardalur contains a supermarket and a petrol station, hair salons, a pub/restaurant, a coffee shop, a health-care centre, an off-licence, a garage[1] and a craft shop; the information centre is in the same building as a cafe and a museum on the Vínland expeditions.
The village also lies at the north-eastern end of the Snæfellsnes peninsula and is part of the municipality of Dalabyggð. Búðardalur had about 270 inhabitants in 2014 and is a service center for the area, including the regional tourist information centre. In the traditional system of counties of Iceland that existed until the late 1980s, it was part of Dalasýsla, a name that is still used for the region.
At a short distance from the village is Eiríksstaðir, the homestead of Erik the Red, who was the first European to discover Greenland and whose son Leif Erikson, born at Eiríksstaðir, was the first European to discover America ahead of Columbus.

Sea side location with excellent view of the water. Super super friendly hosts. Karolin is super sweet and she helped me find my way further in my journey.”
It feels like a family with them.
Very clean property, The room has all the important needs: fridge, kettle, etc.
The bed is super comfortable.
Easy parking in the front
The owners were super friendly, helpful, and informative. We loved the coffee and sink in the room, and the shower was big and comfy. The view was also nice. Nice to have the towels
We had the check in at 1am, because of a storm, and the lady who hosted us was so comprehensive and kind. A very quiet place in one of the oldest houses in Buðardalur
One of the cutest places we've ever stayed! Even though it was a small cottage, we had everything we would need for our short stay but the place is ok even for a longer stay. Amazingly comfy bed and pillows, good wifi, coffee machine, microwave, water boiler, hairdryer, a couple of kitchenette.. Really nice place and lovely host, would recommend to anyone passing by! You will find a booklet with the story of the place and fun facts about Iceland:)
